How can civil servants collaborate on policy design to improve outcomes?

On Wednesday 4th May, NS&I Government Payment Services (NS&I GPS), in collaboration with Civil Service World, hosted our fourth, and final, Round Table event. It posed the question – ‘How can civil servants collaborate on policy design to improve outcomes?’

The event brought together key civil servants from across government, as well as NS&I GPS’s B2B Director, Dax Harkins, and Graeme Hill, Business Development Manager, to discuss the issues around improving cross-departmental collaboration to save money and improve outcomes for citizens.

Discussions focused on how and where collaboration for policy design works really well. Alongside some great success stories, attendees also talked openly about the challenges and limitations they face in working in this way.

What was evident was the wealth of knowledge across the Civil Service that could be tapped into.

The opportunity also allowed Dax and Graeme to highlight the great work that NS&I GPS has been doing across government, whilst also sharing lessons learnt from our experience of delivering payment services for other departments.
